About
Built a closed-loop medication administration record (MAR) system with barcode verification, drug interaction checking, and real-time compliance tracking — eliminating medication errors during a hospital pilot program.
The Problem
Medication administration errors affected 1 in 20 hospital patients. Paper-based MAR sheets were illegible, drug interaction checks were manual, and there was no audit trail to track who administered what and when.
Our Solution
Created a digital MAR with barcode scanning (patient wristband + medication), automated drug interaction alerts powered by a clinical decision support engine, and a full audit trail. The five-rights verification (right patient, drug, dose, route, time) is enforced digitally.
